In this course, Gary Hiebner examines how different types of distortion affect an audio signal and demonstrates various ways these effects can be applied within a production workflow. The course begins with an overview of how saturation and distortion alter waveforms, along with a discussion of insert versus send routing and how each approach impacts the signal. You’ll then explore the importance of effect chain order and hear how different processing configurations change the result.
