Description

Designed as a counterpoint to the large symphonic strings sound of Spitfire’s “Symphonic Strings” library, the Chamber Strings offer detail and intimacy achieved by meticulously recording a small ensemble. Recorded at The Hall at AIR Studios, this collection provides a highly sought-after widescreen blockbuster sound with the detail and intimacy of a smaller section. Spitfire handpicked 16 of the finest string players - 4 1st Violins, 3 2nd Violins, 3 Violas, 3 Cellos, and 3 Basses - and recorded them performing a wide range of articulations and techniques. This smaller section delivers a focused and intimate sound while maintaining the resonance and reverb of Lyndhurst Hall. The Muse Sounds Edition features content derived from Spitfire Audio’s flagship “Spitfire Chamber Strings” library, utilizing a curated set of articulations and a single mixed microphone position. Muse Sounds Edition libraries are exclusive versions of leading sample libraries, reprogrammed and optimized for Muse Sounds’ unique playback engine. Instruments with true legato or portamento transitions use Muse Sounds’ bespoke legato engine for smooth, connected lines. Advanced storage compression ensures the libraries don't max out your device’s storage.

- Improved Bartok Pizz implementation

When I tried doing sul ponticello with tremolo articulation, it sounds like it's machine gunning individual notes rather than playing a proper tremolo.

Thumbs up for a beautiful sound over all. Worth the money imo.

If you're looking for a strings sound for a symphony, then this is the one for you. Way better than Musescore's strings. Ironically, I wouldn't recommend this for chamber string pieces. Even though the description states that there's only a few players per section, it sound like there's 16 per section (And I mean, props to the players for sounding like a whole orchestra, but it's not what I expected or wanted).

The cello section on its own is worth it for the money - it really shines for cello melodies. When I first used all the sections in a 4 part piece it sounded ok but absolutely fabulous when isolating individual instrument sections which was a surprise but so amazed by the cellos.

Don't waste your time... I'm really getting fed up with requesting refund after refund for ALL of the sounds I have tried, so far... The intonation is extremely unstable, with pitches sounding like they're struggling to stay in tune, as if the players had butter on their fingers and instrument strings, causing their fingers to slide around on the neck... The actual TONE of it sounds fine, just like the majority of the other sound packages on here... Yet ALL of them seem to have the same problems... Its completely unusable, due to the amount of unpleasant de-tuning sounds, or random volume spikes, and dynamics being incorrectly played. Just stick with MuseSounds... it's plenty good enough, I suppose...

The pp sounds like mf. on top of this, when doing a tremolo crescendo from pp to ff with a rest after, a weird artifact happens at the end where they all suddenly strike a random high note. really unfortunate cause the sounds themselves are incredible. needs a lot of work though. I have confidence in spitfire that they'll patch things. I've used their products in the past with great satisfaction, I'm just a little disappointed in this one.

The intimate sound is really nice! This library definitely has the most varied techniques it can play, and it still sounds great for full symphony pieces, making it a great go to!
