“Producing Signature EDM Tracks” explores practical techniques for developing a recognizable and personal EDM sound. In this course, Chris Herrera demonstrates methods for customizing drums, synths, and arrangements to create tracks that stand out. The training begins with resampling and editing kick drums to generate fresh, unique tones. You’ll then learn how to slice and customize loops so they better fit your production style. From there, Chris shows how to layer and process multiple synths to build a full, distinctive sound. Next, the course introduces Chris’s “ghostchaining” approach to sidechain-style dynamics, including tuning the ghost trigger and using multiple sidechain triggers for more complex rhythmic movement. Additional lessons cover high-pass filtering on individual tracks and summing busses, along with bussing strategies and effect routing techniques. The course concludes with building and arranging a House track using the techniques covered, including sculpting and automating elements to shape a cohesive final production.
