“FL Studio: Making Your First Beat” walks through the process of building a beat from the ground up using FL Studio. In this course, Tyler Coffin demonstrates how to move from sample selection to a refined, cohesive production using core FL Studio tools. The training begins with browsing and selecting drum samples to populate the Channel Rack, along with foundational beat-making concepts within FL Studio. You’ll then explore additional sample selection techniques, including the use of FL Cloud and the Stem Separation tool for isolating individual elements from a full mix. Further lessons cover refining sounds using the Mixer, balancing levels, panning instruments in the stereo field, adding effects, and shaping the overall feel of the track. You’ll also work in the Piano Roll to adjust and modify instrument parts. The course includes the project files used in the demonstrations so you can follow along and apply the techniques directly. By the end, you’ll understand the step-by-step process of constructing and refining a beat inside FL Studio.
