it's easy to use. there may be a slight learning curve but you will figure it out in no time. sometimes my audio won't budge in other edit programs like clipchamp but i have to figure it out.

I tend to have crash outs when saving a project every so often. But then I can go back in and retrieve it and save under a different name. That can be frustrating BUT overall I find audacity easy to use and effective for podcasts and community radio shows

Find it pretty funny how Audacity has only a 50% review score on it’s own distribution app… I was on an older Mac version that constantly crashed, until I found out that there was an update. Looking forward to using it :)
I can access or use all effects they all been greyed out including audacity effects not to say all other plugins
...and I loved it. But I recently updated it through the app and now it continuously crashes during recording and editing making it unusable. I've reported it. I haven't had a response. The option to send error reports also doesn't work so I'm not confident the developers are even aware of the scope of the problem. Many users are reporting the same problem online and those reports have been showing up for about a month.

My laptop screen broke. SO I got a new laptop. I use this exclusively for a podcast and have found Audacity to be really reliable so I went to download it again and it sent me to MUSE....whatever that is...no explanation of what was happening or why...spent 20 minutes of now wasted time trying to find the program I wanted in the first place...but not before jumping through so so so so many hoops from this bs company called MUSE. If I wanted MUSE I would ask for, search for and download MUSE. This nonsense of twch companies making things harder under the auspices of making things simpler for them is just too much.
Audacity is a great audio editor for basic music production or just for simple audio editing. Nevertheless, I’m excited for the upcoming updates and for the efforts of the developer team to make audacity a worthy competitor with other high end music production software (although it isn’t there quite yet).
